Dancer

Rustic Dancer is a chestnut grade horse.  He stands 15 hands.  Born in 1971, Dancer loves attention and will come when he is called.  He likes to turn the lights off and on in the barn.

In the early 1980s, Dancer met his former owner in California after a huge fire broke out in Malibu Canyon.  Tied to a pony line, Dancer, along with other horses, was led to safety at another ranch.  But, he was never claimed by his owners.   After a time and consultation with a lawyer, the good Samaritan sold Dancer to a woman who enjoyed endurance riding.  With her, Dancer raced in the Malibu 25 mile race, taking Dancer and his owner past the site where the TV series MASH was filmed along with several western studio towns.  When Dancers owner moved East, Dancer experienced a scenic tour of the United States.  Instead of meeting his companion in New York, he was taken to Florida and his owner received a horse destined for Boston.  Dancer ultimately was reunited with his owner and stayed with her until he retired to Ryerss in October 1992.
